Once end-of-the-line and also the “Forgotten District”, Toledo is gradually coming into its own as a major tourist destination especially for the niche visitor seeking a place as remote as Belize can offer. This district has vast mountain vistas and a very low population density. It is the furthest destination to reach and travel is longer by road. But daily commuter flights make it easy to access. We can see more and more hotels springing up especially as expats spread to take up the hospitality opportunities this southernmost district offers.
