Belize is divided into six districts. Starting from the north: Corozal, Orange Walk, Belize, Cayo, Stann Creek and ending in the southernmost district Toledo. The following are links to pages of relevant information:
Ambergris Caye - located in the Belize District. It hosts trendy restaurants, funky bars, many resorts and a manana, relaxed attitude - Ambergris Caye is where it all began, the cradle of modern Belize tourism. The living is easy and modern trappings do not sway the resolve of visitors to kick off their shoes. One tourist whose name is lost in history coined the phrase to describe Ambergris Caye, "No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem," and the slogan has become part of the island lore. Known as La Isla Bonita, Ambergris Caye blends Caribbean charm with a touch of Mexico and a hint of Key West.
Belize City - arrival point for cruise ship passengers and commercial capital.
Belmopan - the capital of Belize.
Cayo District - western Belize with easy access to Guatemala.
Caye Caulker - a budget island near Ambergris Caye.
Corozal - in the north and bordering Mexico.
Orange Walk - also north and center of Belize's sugar industry.
Stann Creek & Dangriga: Belize Culture Capital
Placencia - top destination in the Stann Creek District.
Toledo - in the deep south with sea access to Guatemala and Honduras.
