The Cayo District is the most popular inland tourist destination in Belize. This district in western Belize is the gateway to Guatemala and borders the province of El Peten that by itself is bigger than Belize. El Cayo is home to the capital City Of Belmopan, the twin towns of San Ignacio and Santa Elena, Succotz Village, and he border town of Benque Viejo Del Carmen.
