The Father of the Nation Rt. Hon. George Cadle Price passed away on Monday 19 September 2011. Mr. Price more than any other person has left an indelible stamp on our young nation state of Belize. He was co-founder of the People’s United Party, the first Premier of Belize, and the first Prime Minister of Belize. He was a man of “uncommon discipline” who against all odds fought for the independence of Belize with all its territory intact. The Honorable George Cadle Price as I can remember, used to visit my Great Grand Mother in Ladyville. He always had a pleasant smile and always waving and greeting everyone he met. I also recall him visiting Orange Walk Town and marching beside Mr. Elito Urbina and Kayia with his flag.
He will be missed and like everyone knows he was the father of the Land our home sweet Belize. May his soul rest in peace. He is gone but will never be forgotten. Amen.
